WIND-INDUCED RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF WIND TURBINE SYSTEM

In this paper, the dynamic response of wind turbine system under wind action is numerically investigated. First, an integrated finite element model of wind turbine system consisting of the blade, the nacelle and the tower is established. To evaluate the effect of the blade/tower interaction on the dynamic performance of wind turbine system, a comparative finite element model taking the blade/tower interaction into consideration is also analyzed. Then, the time history analysis of wind turbine system under the input of wind pressure record which comes from the Davenport spectrum through orthogonal expansion method is carried out. The results show that the wind-induced response of wind turbine system is remarkable and usually is the dominant factor in the design of wind turbine system. It is also found that apparent difference exists between the results from the model including blade/tower interaction and that from the model excluding blade/tower interaction.
