SEISMIC GROUND MOTION AMPLIFICATION BY SOIL DEPOSITS
The lumped mass model combined with the equivalent linear method is applied to analyze the dynamic response of soil layer. The method is further employed to study the effect of soil type and soil layer thickness on the amplification of the seismic ground motion. Numerical examples show that the method is computationally efficient. The current seismic response in code is not suitable for soft soil with thick deposit and more attentions should be made for special construction site
