A NEW RANDOM MODEL OF EARTHQUAKE MOTION CONSIDERING STOCHASTIC PHYSICAL PROCESS

In this paper, a new approach is proposed to reflect the intrinsical mechanics of seismic uncertainty. According to the modelling by mechanism, the proposed model is targeted to establish a physical relation between random earthquake motion with key random parameters including the input spectral parameter, the natural angular frequency and the damping ratio of engineering ground. Using random Fourier spectrum as model function, the probability configuration of seismic motion is obtained simultaneously. With numerical method, a large number of actual records of different sites are analyzed to identify the probability distribution of previous basic random parameters. Compared with actual seismic records, the proposed model is approved of propriety to externalize the variability of earthquake ground motions.
