EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCHES INTO REINFORCED LIGHT WEIGHT CONCRETE BEAMS
Reinforced concrete structures get into the trouble of durability to different extent, for corrosion of steel bars, and if fatigue load are applied, corrosion fatigue occurs and cause great danger. The experiments of reinforced light weight concrete (RLC) beams under mid-low and high load level in simulated seawater environment are carried out. The progressive development of deformation and fatigue lives of the beams were studies. The results show that under the combination action of corrosion and fatigue load, all beams behave obvious three stage characteristics for the curve of deflection-cycles, which is more obvious as more load level. Compared with RC beams in the same situation, the RLC beams show longer fatigue lives, which is because light concrete has better preservation for steel bars.
