INFLUENCES OF PROPERTIES OF GROUND GRANULATED SLAG MADE FROM MUNICIPAL WASTE ON THE PROPERTIES OF MORTAR WHOSE BINDER IS THE GROUND GRANULATED SLAG

The granulated slag has the latent hydraulic property and it forms a hardening body by the stimulation of the alkali material. In this study, influence of grinding method, particle size and chemical component amount of the slag on fresh and hardened mortar whose binder is the ground granulated slag made from municipal waste are discussed. The findings obtained from this study can be concluded as follows: (1) The increase of average particle size of the slag increases flow loss and compressive strength. (2) Flow loss of the mortar using the wet ground slag is smaller than that of the mortar using the dry ground slag. Compressive strength of the mortar using the wet ground slag is higher than that of the mortar using the dry ground slag. (3) The flow loss increases with the increase of CaO/Al<,2>O<,3> ratio of the slag. (4) The compressive strength of mortar increases with the increase of, baysicity of the slag.
