PROPERTIES OF CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL WITH SULFOBUTYLATED CELLULOSE

Water-soluble sulfobutylated cellulose (SBC) were synthesized by the reaction among cellulose, sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and 1, 4-butanesuhone (BS). Their performances in cementitious materials were evaluated. The fluidity, slump loss, and compressive strength of mortar were improved by the addition of appropriate amount SBC. The results indicated that water-soluble SBCs have the potential to be developed as water reducer, high-range water reducer, or set- retarding and water-reducing agent. Their performances were rested with the structure of SBCs, such as the instinct viscosity and degree of substitution of sulfobutyl group (DS).
