EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION OF THE CRUDE OIL TANK MODEL

According to the basic principle of experimental modal analysis, the modal strains of the vertical steel crude oil storage tank model with doom roof are tested. The ability of identifying the damage degree and location of the model by using the modal parameters is observed. Experimental analysis shows that the more damage of the tank body exists in the same location, the more frequency is reduced, but the relative changing rate of natural frequency is not too obvious. The strain mode shape can give the information of damage location. The frequencies present downtrend as the liquid height inside the model rises. The existing liquid inside the tank has quite small influence on the identification of damage location.
