Contributions of R. M. Barrer to zeolite synthesis
Barrer’s synthesis activities covered 35 years of research from 1945 to 1980 and included thermodynamic analyses of nucleation, crystallization and salt inclusion as well as the preparation of many new materials including new zeolite topologies, new compositions of known structures and several novel post-synthesis approaches to modifying zeolite compositions and properties. Most of this work was reported under the mastheads of “Hydrothermal chemistry of silicates and “Chemistry of soil minerals.
