Discovery of a new catalytically active and selective zeolite (ITQ-30) by high-throughput synthesis techniques
A new zeolite, ITQ-30, has been synthesized using high throughput synthesis, characterization by XRD and data mining techniques. ITQ-30 structure belongs to the MWW family, presenting disordered layers like MCM-56. This new zeolite can be synthesized in a wide range of composition (Si/Al ratio from 10 to ∞) and possesses a large external surface area. These characteristics make ITQ-30 into an active and selective catalyst for alkylation of benzene with propylene.
