Nanoporous metal phosphate CoVSB-1 catalyst for oxidation of styrene with H2O2
Catalytic properties of nanoporous metal phosphates CoVSB-1 and VSB-1 were investigated in the selective oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The corresponding conversion and selectivity over calcined 52-CoVSB-1 were 35.7% and 60.8%, respectively. Whereas VSB-1, 11-CoVSB-1 and 31-CoVSB-1 show poor selectivity to benzaldehyde. The relationship between framework structure and the catalytic activity of CoVSB-1 was studied. It is found that the tetrahedral cobalt centers acted as active sites in the catalytic reaction and the increased basicity favored the formation of benzaldehyde. The behavior of P-OH and the coordination configurations of Co2+ and Ni2+ were studied through FT-IR and UV-vis methods.
