Studies on catalytic cracking catalyst of hydrocarbons with a new type of zeolite L
A new catalyst which exhibits superior activity, stability and selectivity in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) reactions of hydrocarbons is defined as a new type of zeolite L, ultra stable zeolite L (USL), as an active additive component of catalyst. The zeolite L was synthesized by hydrothermal crystallization method and characterized by means of XRD, SEM, FTIR and N2 isotherm adsorption. The zeolite L with a SiO2/Al2O3 mole ratio of 5 ~7 was modified by hydrothermal dealumination and metal element modifications in order to prepare zeolite USL with a higher framework SiO2 /Al2O3 ratio of 15 ~ 30. The FCC catalysts introduced a novel zeolite RE-USL were evaluated by microactivity test (MAT) and fixed-fluidized bed (FFB) experiments using heavy oil as a feedstock. The results show that the FCC catalyst is excellent for improving the quality of gasoline, decreasing the olefin content, enhancing the content of isoparaffins, aromatic hydrocarbons and research octane number (RON).
