ZSM-5 with intracrystal mesopores for catalytic cracking
Zeolites with intracrystal mesopores were prepared using a silane-modified polymer as the mesoporogen. By changing the polymer size, the average mesopore sizes of the resultant zeolites are adjustable from 2 nm to 6 nm. The majority of mesopores are in the range of 1 to 10 nm and account for a mesopore volume of 0.05~0.5 cc/g. Compared to conventional zeolite catalysts, mesoporous zeolite exhibits enhanced catalytic cracking performance as indicated by cumene cracking reactions.
