Recent progress in industrial zeolites for petrochemical applications
Since catalytic technology is the key technology for petroleum refining and petrochemical processing and catalyst is the core of catalytic technology, the development of new catalysts would have a great impact on petroleum refining and petrochemical industry. After entering the 21st century, there will be a lot of challenges on China’s agenda in the areas of energy security and chemicals production. An effective way to solve these problems is to uninterruptedly develop new catalytic materials and technologies geared to the deep processing of crudes, the production of clean fuels, the production of light olefins and the effective production of green chemicals. In this article the catalysts containing CDY, DOSY and ZSP zeolites used in Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) process, and the catalyst containing mesoporous zeolite (~100 nm) for alkylation of benzene with ethylene produced at Changling Catalyst Factory since 2000.
