Mesoporous metal oxides templated by FDU-12 using a new convenient method
A solid-liquid synthetic method has been developed to produce crystalline mesoporous transition metal oxides, Co3O4, NiO, and CeO2, using cage-containing FDU-12 mesoporous silica as a hard template. Structural characterisation of the products was carried out using XRD, HRTEM and N2 adsorption/desorption. The formation mechanisms of these new materials were investigated. It was found that the crystal symmetry of the oxides has a significant influence on the crystal growth inside the cage-dominated mesopores.
