The New-Fashioned GPS Receiver Based on Software Radio Technique
The structure and the technique of GPS receiver based on software radio technique are discussed, the intention of which is to develop a new-fashioned GPS receiver controlled by software. The designed receiver is extremely flexible and opening, and the hardware of the receiver is opening, standardization and modularization. Three sections are included in the paper. Firstly, the notion and the basic ideal of software radio are introduced, and the difference between the traditional digital receiver and the software radio receiver is discussed. Secondly, the key technique in software radio system is presented. In the third of this paper, the design of GPS receiver using software radio technique is presented, and the front RF module and the high-speed DSP module are analyzed especially. The problem of the dual- mixer, which is one of the key techniques of the RF module, and the problem of bottleneck of DSP module are settled by using several parallel DSP chips in the paper.
