Digitized Control of the Technical Manual for Weapon Equipment of Large Scale
Along with the developing of weapon equipment, the data manual supporting its logistics has become a large system. The workload and the cost of editing, issuing, storing and usmg become more and more, and this has turned into a bottleneck which restricts its logistics. So in some developed countries headed by America, their Departments of Defense (DoD) have begun to cooperate with industrial communities, promote the application of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) together. The producing and using efficiencies of weapon equipment through digitization are improved. In this contribution, the concepts, the advantages, the standards and the classifications of IETM are expounded mainly, and some key techniques such as the data structure and database construction of IETM are discussed in detail.
