A Study on the Absorbing Performance of Underwater Anechoic Coating with Cavity

The sound absorption of underwater anechoic coating with cavities is studied. The mathematical model is based on the theories of sound propagation in viscoelastic cylindrical tubes and layered media. Sound absorption performances of the coating with various cavity structures and material parameters are predicted. The results show that the absorbing performance of this anechoic coating is better than homogeneous coating in low frequency while it keeps good performance in high frequency. The ideal absorbing performance in wider frequency can be acquired by adjusting the cavity structures and material parameters.
