Extracting the Arrival Time of a Bombing Source
The problem of time delay estimation with multipath transmissions arises often in many sonar systems. Lots of algorithms have been given to extract the arrival time. But the presence of the multipath propagation and the interference of the ambient noise declined their performance, In the paper, computer simulations of the PHAT method have been presented, and we used several traditional methods to extract the arrival time from the hydrophones received data of a bombing source. Some comparison has been done between them. The results show that under the conditions of a certain SNR, the methods can also get high accuracy.
