An Experimental Study on the Acoustic Scattering by Rough Surfaces

This paper introduces an experimental measurement for determining the scattering coefficient in an anechoic chamber using WINMLS as measuring system. Based on a simple implementation, the impulse responses for direct sound and reflected sound are measured for 37 microphone positions. The measured data were loaded into Matlab. The scattering coefficients in respect to different frequencies were obtained after processing the data of measurements. Both the measured results and the calculated results are shown.
