The Directivity Measurement of Multi-beam Sonar System
The directivity of sonar system is an important specification to meet the specified function. The system directivity measurement is usually implemented in the tank. The system output voltage is recorded by voltage-recorder mean while the array is rotated when the signal is transmitted. The workload is very great that the directivity of each beam channel is measured one by one on multi-beam system using above methods. However, it is impossible that the directivity of equipment itself is measured. An effective measurement method is proposed according to the factual instance. The output signal is collected by data collecting system when the signal is used, which simulates different direction echo. The directivity pattern is plotted by post-process software. The directivity measurement problem of multi-beam sonar system is not only solved, but also measurement efficiency is greatly increased. It also provides evidence for debugging system.
