The Application of Combined-Receiver in Underwater Acoustic Communication
Until recently, adaptive equalization and diversity technologies, although that effects were not perfect, were the primary ways to resist signal fading in underwater acoustic (UWA) communication channels. The appearance of combined-receiver (vector hydrophone) have provided a new tool and methods to easy measure sound intensity. In this paper, we propose a new technique by using sound intensity for UWA communication decoding to resolve the existing problems in UWA channels. Studies show that technology can effectively enhance SNR, reduce bit error rate and restrain signal fading.
