Research on Side-scan Mapping of Multi-beam Swath Bathymeter

摘要：

Multi-beam swath bathymeter is the main equipment for seabed survey. In this paper, the basic principles and process of side-scan mapping using multi-beam swath bathymeter are analyzed. The principle of traditional side-scan mapping is presented at first. Then the working procedure of side-scan mapping based on FFT beamforming technique using multi-beam swath bathymeter is described. The sea trial data obtained from a real multi-beam swath bathymeter developed by our college are used in this analysis.
