Similarity Study of Sound Radiation of Excited Submerged Spherical Shell

By adjusting the exited frequency based on the similarity conditions for the distorted model of spherical shell to some extent, it may compensate the deflection of predicting the behavior of prototype from the test result of distorted spherical shell. Study results from both theory and computer simulation was shown in the paper. According to the fact that different characteristics of sound field are displayed with different exited frequency on spherical shell, in the case of different ratio of spherical shell thickness to radius, the pressure directivity of the model can conform to that of the prototype rather well by adjusting the exited frequency of model. Of course the modification of numerical scale factor is required, in order to make the identity of non-dimensional pressure of two systems. Experimental results show that by adjusting the exited frequency compensating the distortion of sound field from distorted model is feasible and successful.
