Simulation Study on the Performance of Underwater Anechoic Coating
The properties of perforated underwater anechoic coating is simulated based on the theories of sound propagation in multi-layered media and in wave guides with varying cross sections. Shear effects in the coating material are neglected and it is treated as a fluid with a complex Youngs modulus and therefore a complex sound velocity. The effects of cavity shapes and porosity on the performance of the coating are studied numerically.
