An Experiment in Computer Graphics Education with Interactive Visual Learning Materials
In this research, we made interactive visual learning material. And, we evaluated effectiveness by using this learning material in the class. The proposed interactive visual learning material presents two types of information to the learner separately: main information and secondary information. The main information is necessary information for all learners. The learner can acquire the secondary information by clicking with the mouse the object that he/she cannot understand in a main visual. The secondary information consists of records of detailed text-based explanation of the clicked object. As a result, we achieved information presentation corresponding to the learners understanding level. Moreover, because the learner can acquire the information presentation by his/her own operation, high motivation is maintained. This paper first explain the content and method of the class of Fundamentals of Computer Graphics, and then describe the interactive visual learning material that was introduced in the lecture and the exercise. Finally, we performed the evaluation of the visual learning material using the questionnaire survey by the students after the education was practiced.
