Study on the improvement effect of trace mental on methane fermentation of the leachate from acidogenic fermenter treating municipal organic wastes
Acid and ammonia restraints of the anaerobic digestion of municipal organic wastes in high-solids content can be avoided by adopting two-stage process. During the two-stage digestion, the leachate from acidogenic fermenter often lack trace mental so that methane fermentation is affected subsequently. The paper researched the improvement effect of Fe, Co and Ni on methane fermentation of the leachate from acidogenic fermenter. Two sets of UASB reactors were adopted during the experiment, one was supplemented 5.0mg/L Fe, 1.0mg/L Co and 1.0mg/L Ni in influent and another was no supplement. Experimental results indicated, when influent COD was 6930~17980mg/L and COD load was 8.02~22.16kg/(m<3>d), the COD removal rate of UASB with supplement trace mental ions reached more than 90%, effluent COD was less than 1000mg/L mostly and was lower the effluent COD of UASB without supplement trace mental ions, effluent VFA of UASB with supplement trace mental ions was less than 250mg/L and was lower without one, the averagegas production per unit and gas conversion per unit COD increased by 21.5% and 11.4% respectively after addition of trace metal ions.
