Study on the Kinetics of Low Temperature Pyrolysis of Waste Printed Wiring Boards

The kinetics of the low temperature pyrolysis of the FR-4 waste printed wiring boards under nitrogen, air and vacuum conditions were studied by thermogravimetric (TG) methods. The results showed that the starting temperature of gravity loss was 297.1℃ under both nitrogen and air condition while it was between 160-170℃ under vacuum condition. The activation energy were 127.87KJ, 115.36KJ and 53.59KJ under nitrogen, air and vacuum condition separately, which proved that vacuum condition would be propitious for the low temperature pyrolysis. The results supplied theoretical support for the application of low temperature pyrolysis on the treatment of waste printed wiring boards.
