Study on Rheological Properties of the Biodegradable Aliphatic-aromatic PBST Copolyesters
Rheological properties of poly (butylene succinate- co-butylene terephthalate) (PBST) samples with different molecular weight are investigated, including the dependence of the apparent shear viscosity, non-Newtonian index, structural viscosity index and viscous flow activation energy. It is found that PBST melt is shear-thinning fluid; both non- Newtonian index and structural viscosity index decrease with increasing apparent shear rate. Moreover, with the increase of molecular weight, the structural viscosity index and viscous flow activation energy become higher and the non-Newtonian index becomes lower, indicating the rheological properties become worse.
