Modification of Polyarylacetylene with Propargyl-Terminated Phenylether Oligomers

In this paper, 4,4-dipropargyldiphenylether and resorcin dipropargylether were prepared by the reaction of 4,4-dihydroxy diphenylether and resorcinol with propargyi bromide, respectively. Their structures were confirmed with FTIR, <1>H-NMR, MS etc. Copolymerization of diethynylbenzene with different fraction, 10%, 20%, 30%, of 4,4- dipropargyl diphenylether or resorcin dipropargylether were investigated. The rheological analysis of the modified Polyarylacetylene (MPAA) resin, i.e. copolymers shows excellent processability. Dynamic mechanical analysis indicated that the cured MPAA resin shows good heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of over 350℃. The dielectric spectra of the cured MPAA show dielectric constant of ε=3.5-3.6.
