Rheological Behavior of PES-C/DMAc Solution

The rheological behavior of Phenolphthalein polyethersulfone/dimethylacetamide (PES-C/DMAc) solutions were investigated with a cone-and-plate rheogoniometer. The solutions with various concentration show as shear-thinning fluids. Apparent viscosity η<,a> at same shear rate increases with PES-C concentration. In the studied range of PES-C concentration, non- Newtonian index n of five solutions with various concentrations is lower than 1.0 and continually decreases with PES-C concentration. In the studied range of temperature, Non- Newtonian indexn continually increases with solution temperature. The value of E<,η> increases with the PES-C concentration when the PES-C concentration is from 18% to 28% and changes slowly when the PES concentration is from 24% to 28%.
