The Composition Analysis and Sequence Distribution of the Copolymers with Poly (Trimethylene Terephthalate)
A series of poly (ethylene-co-trimethylene terephthalate) (PETT) copolymers and poly (trimethylene-co-butylene terephthalate) (PTBT) copolymers were prepared by polycondensation. The composition and sequence distribution of the copolymers with poly (trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) were investigated by NMR. The result demonstrates that all of the synthesized copolymers are the block copolymers and the content of PTT units incorporated into the copolymers is always larger than that fed in the polymerization. The higher the content of the component of the copolymers, the longer its sequence length is. To the PETT copolymers, PTT units are more likely to form the alternative segments than PET units. While the PBT units favor a longer sequence length than the PTT units in their corresponding enriched PTBT copolymers.
