Optimization of the Molding Thickness of KFRTC Produced by Hot-pressing
The paper presented an equation to estimate the theoretical molding thickness h<,c> of KFRTC produced by hot pressing knitted preforms made from commingled yarns and found that the composites produced can be of lower void content and higher tensile strength when h, the actual molding thickness of the composites and h<,c> satisfied h =kh<,c> (0.85≤k≤ 0.95). This estimation of h is necessary for controlling the actual molding thickness of KFRTC to produce high strength KFRTC.
