Sheath-core PPS/PA6 Fibers
In this research sheath-core PPS/PA6 fibers were studied, where PPS is sheath, PA6 is core. Sheath- core fibers were spun and drawn to different ratios. The fibers exhibit three-dimensional crimp. Strength of fibers was tested, it was found that the strength of fibers increased steeply as increasing draw ratios at beginning, then increased smoothly as draw ratio increased further. The fibers with the same draw ratio were kept in 48% sulfate for different time, the strength of fibers was tested. In comparison with fibers without sulfate treating, the strength of fibers decreased at beginning, but as time extended, the strength just shows little change.
