Research of High-performance Integral Woven Composites with Strengthening Bones by Warp Inserting
To improve the performances of integral woven composites which are light-weight and high-strength woven by high-performance fibers, develop a structure of strengthening bones by warp inserting. A part of the binding warp yams which play a very important role in connecting the two surface layers are superseded by the strengthening bones. The wefts of the two surface layers set a limit to the strengthening bones upper and lower positions, and their left and right positions are restricted by the binding warp yams. According to this structure, a new weave design method and a new weave technology are presented. It is indicated through weaving experiment that the key point of weaving this fabric with strengthening bones of different thickness and materials is to reconstruct picking, beating-up, let- of and take-up motions of double-rapier loom. The strengthening bones improve the distribution of fibers or yarns in the composite performs, enlarge the distance of the two surface layers, then strengthen the mechanical performance, and extend their application fields.
