Thermal and Dynamic Mechanical Properties of LPPS/HPPS blends
Blends of linear poly (phenylene sulfide) (LPPS) and hyperbranched poly (phenylene sulfide) (HPPS) with various compositions were prepared using an internal mixer at 300℃ and 75rpm for 10 min. The thermal and dynamic mechanical properties of LPPS/HPPS blends were investigated by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The results show that the melting point, crystallization temperature and crystalline growth rate of the blends decrease; while crystalline activation energy increases with the increasing of HPPS content. DMA shows higher value of storage modulus (E) and glass transition temperature (Tg). There may be some strong interactions between HPPS and LPPS, which hinder the motion of LPPS chains.
