The Structure and Performance of PBO Fiber Prepared with Different Take-up Speed
Poly 1, 4-phenylene-cis-benzobisoxazole (PBO) fiber, spun from a lyotropic liquid crystal polymer solution, is a high temperature-resistant fiber with the highest tensile strength. In this paper, the structure and performance of PBO fiber at different take-up speed were analyzed and measured. The results showed that the tensile strength of the fiber was mainly determined by the viscosity of the polymer. The tensile strength of the fiber was greatly improved with the increase of the viscosity of the polymer. The orientation degree, tensile strength and modulus of the fiber could be improved with the increase of the take-up speed in the spinning process.
