Measurement and Analysis of the Permeability of 2.5 D Woven Reinforcement Materials
Permeability of the 2.5D woven reinforcement materials under the different mold filling parameters was measured using one-dimension unidirectional flow and image processing techniques. The effects of the various parameters of volume fraction, injection pressure, liquid viscosity and mold width on the permeability of 2.5 D woven reinforcement materials in resin transfer molding (RTM) were investigated. The results of the orthogonal tests showed that the principal factor affecting permeability was volume fraction, and the other factor was injection pressure. Liquid viscosity and mold width had less effect in a certain range.
