Compatibility Studies on Blend Solution of Hydroxypropylcellulose and Polyacrylonitrile by Viscometric Methods
The solubility parameter of hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) was measured using viscosity method and also hansen solubility parameter for Selected Correlations was calculated for the first time. The compatibility of the HPC and Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) blend solution was studied by theoretically as well as estimated experimentally. The results displayed that no clear two-phase were formed within the range of compositions. This may has been because of the presence of strong hydrogen-bonding interaction between hydroxyl group in the HPC and nitrile group in the PAN.
