An FT-IR Study of the Effect of Added Flame Retardant on the Structure of TPEE
Flame-retardant thermoplastic polyester elastomers (FR-TPEE) were synthesized from dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), 1, 4-butanediol (BD), 2- carboxylethyl (phenyl)-phosphinic acid (CEPPA) and poly (tetramethylene glycol) (PTMG) in various molar ratios by melt polycondensation. Microstructure of prepared FR-TPEE was analyzed by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The results showed that the absorption peaks of FR-TPEE with different addition of CEPPA were different in wavenumbers, shapes and intensities of ν (P=O) ν (P-O) bands, and ν (C=O) ν (C-O)ν(C-H) ν (O-H) bands, the wavenumber of ν (C-O- C) bands didnt change with the addition of CEPPA.
