The Preparation and Properties of Antibacterial Alginate Fiber

摘要：

The blended solution of chitosan and CaCl<,2> was used as coagulation bath in preparing alginate fiber by wet spinning method. In the coagulation bath, the sodium alginate molecules cross-linked with chitosan and we obtained alginate/chitosan fiber. The results show that the break strength of this fiber is higher than that of the pure alginate fiber and its antibacterial property is increased with the increasing of the chitosan content in the coagulation bath.
