Study of spinnability of poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV)/Ecoflex blending
Poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) is a bioresourced polymer material. However, the processing and application of PHBV fiber has often been limited because of its confined window of processing temperature, tackiness of monofilament, etc. In this paper, Ecoflex, a kind of biodegradable polyester from BASF was select to blend with PHBV, and the spinnability of blends was better than PHBV. The effects of process conditions on fiber properties were studied. In conclusion, at the take-up velocity of 600mm/min and the drawing ratio of 2. 1, the better fiber of PHBV/Ecoflex blends was produced. Drawing and heat-setting could improve the orientation and tensile strength of the fibers.
