Effect of Steam Explosion Treatment on the Structure and Properties of China-Hemp Fibers
Technology of steam explosion treatment on China-Hemp fiber was researched in this paper. The effect of steam explosion treatment on the structure and properties of China-Hemp fiber were discussed. The morphology, structure and properties of steam explosion treatment treated China-Hemp fiber were analyzed through FTIR、 SEM、XRD and TG. Results showed that the morphology of fiber became very clean. The cavities of fiber shrinked and the size of foveola minished too because of expanding effect of explosion treatment on China-Hemp fiber. Treated China-Hemp fiber still showed the characteristics of cellulose I, the crystallinity index and crystallite size of fiber had some decline. The activating effect of steam explosion treatment improved the possibility of chemicals approaching China-Hemp cellulose, so the dyeing ability of China-Hemp fiber increased greatly after treated by explosion. Furthermore, the thermal stability of China-Hemp fiber also got some improved.
