In vitro the degradation of a novel biodegradable scaffold for tissue engineering of the tendon
A novel biodegradable scaffold composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA) fibers and polylactic acid (PLA) fibers for tissue engineering of the tendon was manufactured by braiding technology and knitting technology. The degradation in vitro was simulated by immersing the scaffold in a phosphate buffer saline (PBS) solution at 37℃. The variations of the mass loss and tensile strength of the scaffold during in vitro degradation were investigated. The influence of the component of the yams used in the scaffold was discussed.
