Preparation of Bovine Serum Albumin/poly (acrylic acid) Nanoparticles by Self-assembly
Natural macromolecule bovine serum albumin (BSA) and polyelectrolyte poly (acrylic acid) (PAA) were used to produce nanoparticles by a green and convenient method. The BSA/ PAA mixtures solutions were prepared by dropwise adding of the PAA solution into the pH adjusted BSA solution under agitation. The BSA chains are supposed to be partly trapped in the nanoparticles core after interaction with PAA as a result of the electrostatic attractions and H-bonding interaction between BSA and PAA, while the rest of the BSA chains might form the shell of the nanoparticles. The size and distribution of the nanoparticles are controlled by the medium of pH value. which might be good candidates for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.
