Preparation of Super-hydrophobic Inorganic-organic Hybrid Films by Sol-gel Method on Hydrophilic Materials
Novel inorganic-organic hybrid films with super- hydrophobicity were prepared by sol-gel method. Such films were obtained by dip-coating the modified silica sol prepared via hydrolysis and condensation of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and n- octadecyltriethoxysilane (ODS) onto cotton substrates. The hydrophobic properties of the films were determined using contact angle measurements. The resultant inorganic-organic hybrid films showed a higher water contact angle of 152.3°, long-term stability in a wide pH range and durable hydrophobic properties.
