Characterization of Electrospun Polyacrylonitrile Nanofibers during Carbonization
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning. The nanofibers were oxidatively stabilized at 250℃ then pyrolyzed at 850℃ for carbon nanofibers. The morphology of electrospun nanofibers after stabilization and nanofibers after carbonization were compared by scanning electron microscope (SEM); the tensile and conduction capability were also compared. The conduction capability of nanofibers increases a lot after carbonization. The microstructure changes of PAN powder, electrospinning nanofibers, nanofibers after stabilization and nanofibers after carbonization were charactered by X-ray diffraction and infrared spectrum.
