Preparation and Characterization of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes/polyimide Hybrid Nanocomposites
Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were functionalized via grafting octadecyl isocyanate on the surface of MWNTs. The modified MWNT/ polyimide nanocomposites were prepared by mixing poly (amic acid)/ DMAC solution and the MWNT/ DMAC, and followed by casting film, evaporation and thermal imidization. FT-IR was employed to characterize the structure of modified MWNTs, polyimides and the hybrid films. SEM was used to observe the morphological structure of the MWNT/ polyimide nanocomposites. DMA was introduced to characterize the T<,g> of polyimide and the hybrid films, indicating that T<,g> decreased with the content of the modified MWNTs increasing.
