Frequency Stepped Pulse SAR Signal Processing and Imaging Simulation

Higher range resolution can be obtained when frequency stepped pulse signal is adopted in radar. Higher SAR resolution imaging of target area is realizable because of higher bearing resolution when FSPS is applied. A new higher resolution range imaging method called IFFT method extracted in frequency domain is presented in this paper. The method can improve the SAR imaging anti-noise capability. It is also concluded that imaging method based on back projection can realize range mass- moving adjustment and bearing compression. The simulation results show that this method can bring about higher operation efficiency and better imaging quality.
