Preparation and Deactivation Analysis of Catalyst for Naphthoquinone from Naphthalene by Oxidation
Taking naphthalene as raw material and V<,2>O<,5> as key active component of catalyst to prepare naphthoquinone by selective air-catalytic oxidation. The active component of the catalysts, cocatalyst, carrier, preparation method, and the proper reacting temperature can be determined through parallel experiments. It is showed in the study that expanding properly pore of the silica benefited the activity and the selectivity of the catalyst and big particle (0.45mm of particle size) silica of specific surface area of 60m<2>/g is the most efficient carrier of the catalyst;Catalyst made by dip-molding has higher activity and better selectivity than one by precipitation method; It is concluded through thermal analysis that the cause of catalyst deactivation is carbon deposition and decomposition of sulfate radical.
