Research on Application of Kalman Filter in the Fault Diagnosis of Gearbox

Kalman filter is a kind of optimal state estimation filter and a kind of effective information fusion method. Due to difficulties in state space modeling of the gearbox along with other mechanical system in theory, the Kalman filter has less application in fault diagnosis of gearbox. In this paper, the AR model of a gearbox is modeled with measured vibration accelerate response signal, and turned into state space model. Then the kalman filter technology can be applied to fault diagnosis of gearbox, and the satisfying result is got. Furthermore, the difficulties of information fusion with Kalman filter in the application of gearbox fault diagnosis under the state space model are pointed out.
